Dr. Grigorios Tsagkatakis (g. male) received his Diploma and M.S. degrees in Electronics and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Crete, Greece in 2005 and 2007 respectively, and his Ph.D. in Imaging Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology, New York, in 2011. Since 2011 he has been an associate researcher at the Signal Processing Laboratory at FORTH-ICS while currently is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow working with Prof. Mahta Moghaddam at the University of Southern California. His research focuses on signal processing and machine learning for analysis of scientific data, focusing on Earth Observation, Astrophysics and Neuroscience. He has co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed conferences, journals and book chapters, while he has been awarded three best paper awards (Image Processing: Algorithms and Systems Conference, EI Symposium ’18, Image Sensors and Imaging Systems Conference, EI symposium ’16, Western New York Image Processing Workshop ‘10).
