On the occasion of the 2024 Researcher’s Night, which takes place on Friday, September 27, 2024, the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) and the Institute of Astrophysics (IA) at FORTH are organizing a two-hour event titled “Computational Sciences at FORTH.”
The event is open to all scientists and students of FORTH, aiming to showcase cutting- edge research in computational astrophysics, biology and materials science conducted at our Institutes. It is motivated by the ERA Chair project “TITAN,” which has strengthened the collaboration between ICS and IA to advance the emerging field of “Astroinformatics.”
TITAN aims to demonstrate the seminal role recent breakthroughs in Computational Sciences-both in hardware and in novel algorithms, machine learning, and AI-in solving complex problems in astrophysics and other related areas of physical sciences.
Our speakers:
1. Dr. Jean-Luc Starck
Head of Cosmostat Lab at CEA/Saclay, France & ERA Chair in "Astroinformatics" ICS/FORTH
