The 6th annual Nikolaos Kylafis Distinguished Lecture for 2024 was delivered by the renowned astrophysicist David Spergel, President of the Simons Foundation and Charles A. Young Professor of Astronomy Emeritus at Princeton University (USA).
Professor David Spergel's lecture, titled "The current state of cosmology," followed the public honorary ceremony and took place on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 14:00 in the Central Auditorium of FORTH, with simultaneous online transmission. The Institute of Astrophysics - FORTH aims for the Nikolaos Kylafis Lecture to serve as a catalyst for creating a tradition of visits by distinguished astrophysicists, who will inspire younger generations of scientists being trained at FORTH and the University of Crete.
