About the Summer School
Within the EU-funded TwinODIS project, this intensive 3-day Summer School explores the science and art of decisions that endure: combining the rigour of Responsible Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Operations Research with the judgement, ethics, and stakeholder awareness needed to translate methods into trustworthy practice.
Through expert keynote lectures and tutorial sessions, participants will learn to build Decision Intelligence Systems that deliver lasting public value in domains such as energy, transportation, and climate resilience, where decisions must hold up under uncertainty, scrutiny, and the long horizon of environmental sustainability.
Topics
Methodologies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Operations Research.
Data quality, privacy, governance, and trustworthy data-driven decision-making.
Distributed and multi-agent approaches for complex decision environments.
Causality, explainability, responsible AI, and decision accountability.
Practical tools and infrastructures for building decision intelligence systems.
Societal impact, evaluation, sustainability, and emerging research frontiers.
Target Audience
The Summer School is designed for advanced undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, early-career researchers, and practitioners working in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Operations Research, and related fields.
