George T. Stamatiou is a postdoctoral researcher with the Information Systems Laboratory of the Institute of Computer Science, FORTH. He holds a B.Sc. in Physics and a Ph.D. in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Ioannina. During his doctoral research, he worked on Disorder and Topology in Quantum Systems and Many-Body Localization using both theoretical and computational high-performance computing (HPC) techniques based on large-scale parallel simulations. His current research interests span the areas of Feedback Control and Optimization in Computer Systems, Quantum Computing and Scientific Computing / HPC. In recent years, he has also been addressing challenges at the intersection of IoT, Machine Learning and Smart Cities.
