The goals of the TITAN team are: (a) to initiate new research frontiers in Crete, Greece, and internationally by interfacing advanced computational intelligence methodologies with astrophysical data analysis and open-source software; (b) to create educational and continuing training opportunities, and promote knowledge transfer, capacity building, and gender development; (c) to attract R&I talents and intensify brain mobility; (d) to encourage institutional reforms.
The TITAN team will closely collaborate with the CosmoStat laboratory at CEA-Saclay that is led by the ERA Chair, Dr. Jean-Luc Starck. CosmoStat is an interdisciplinary research group at the interface between cosmology and statistical methods with a focus on industry-academia partnership.
The "Frugal Artificial Intelligence and Application in Astrophysics" (TITAN) project is funded via the EU ERA Chair (HORIZON-WIDERA-2022-TALENTS-01: 2023-2028) program under project ID 101086741.
Starting date: 01-01-2023; Duration: 5 years.
